The Bible is an adventure story about a King who creates, loves and rescues his people.

Every Sunday morning, kids get to hear the transformative truth of God’s Word in their SPKids classroom. Precious babies and toddlers, energetic preschoolers and inquisitive elementary students all have a place to develop relationships and grow their faith in Jesus.

Nursery: 0 – 24 months

Preschool: 2 – 5 years

Elementary: Kindergarten – 5th Grade

After you enter the front doors, stop at the SPKids Welcome desk on the left.  You will be greeted by an SPKids team member or volunteer who will help register your child and print nametags.

The registration and check-in process is important for the safety of your children and to help us efficiently keep everyone organized.

  • Registration: The first time you visit, your family will be registered at the SPKids Welcome Desk in front atrium.  You will need to provide contact information, birthdates and/or grades for each child.
  • Class Assignment: We’ll then assign your children to the appropriate  classrooms based on birthdates and grades.
  • Attendance: After your first visit and family registration, your family can begin checking in at any computer KidCheck station. You may login using the last 4 digits of the telephone number that you provided during registration. Each time you check-in using the computers, your attendance will be taken and recorded.

Our nursery rooms provide a safe and loving environment for infants, babies, and toddlers up to 24 months old.  Each week, our caregivers show these precious children God’s love by providing a safe place for them.  We also believe God’s word is even for the littlest ones.  We want to expose children to God’s word through the singing of songs and a short age-appropriate lesson.

Our Nursery classes are divided by ages:
Turtles: 6 weeks to walkers
Meerkats: Walking toddlers to 24 months

Congratulations! We want to share in your joy during this special time and serve you family as your welcome your new addition. Please let us know that you are expecting by emailing Katie Lown.

Our Preschool Ministry serves kids ages 2 through pre-kindergarten.  Our mission is to give kids a full worship experience through teaching, music, and play. All preschool kids will participate in our kid’s worship and then will return to their classrooms for Bible lessons, snacks, games, and activities.  We believe that God’s word is for all ages.  Our preschool children will have the opportunity to encounter Jesus through intentional Bible teaching and interactive activities.

Our preschool classes are divided by ages:
Monkey class serves our 2 and 3 year olds
Kangaroos class serves our 3 and 4 year olds
Elephants class serves our 4 and 5 year olds.

We typically based class placement based on a child’s age on August 15th.

Our children’s ministry serves elementary kids from Kindergarten through 5thgrade. Our mission and vision is to help these children grow in their knowledge and understanding of Jesus Christ.  We want them to know the Bible is one story with Jesus as the main character.  We intentionally desire to help our children increase in their Biblical literacy through the teaching of the word, games, and interactive activities.  We also want our children to build community with one another.

Our elementary kids also have the opportunity to experience corporate worship with their parents.  After arriving and checking in your elementary child, your child will join you in the sanctuary.   Elementary kids will be prayed for and dismissed from worship to their classes for a time of small group teaching.

Our elementary classes are divided by grade:
1st Grade
2nd & 3rdGrade
4th & 5thGrade

Throughout the year, we will offer various programs and opportunities for our kids to engage and build community outside of Sunday morning.

Katie Lown

Katie Lown and her husband Jay have been married for 16 years and moved to Nolensville in 2012. They have three awesome kids, Olivia, Robert, and Thomas. Finding a place like Southpointe Community Church has been a tremendous blessing in their lives. It is such a gift to be a part of a community of believers that makes Jesus Christ the unavoidable issue . Katie is a native to Brentwood, Tennessee and received her BS in Psychology from Samford University and her MA in Higher Education from Boston College. God called Katie into the role of a children’s leader in the Bible Study Fellowship class. Through BSF, God stirred in Katie’s heart a desire to be intentional about teaching and training the next generation to know and love Jesus Christ. Katie loves seeing children engage with the Bible and begin to learn Biblical truth. Katie feels truly honored to serve her church family as the Director of SPKids.

We invite you to join us in bringing the Gospel of Jesus to the next generation!  SPKids ministry is not childcare, SPKids is a movement.  When we serve, we get to see a glimpse of what God is doing in the lives of our children.

Say YES to loving Kids,  Say YES to singing songs.  Say YES to watching the Bible come alive. Say YES to seeing kids experience the truth of the Gospel.  Say YES to supporting our families.  Say YES to having fun!

We believe you will receive abundantly more than you will give.  Church is not just for grown-ups, it’s for kids too!  From the littlest ones to our oldest elementary kids, Sunday morning is a sacred space.  It’s a high calling and an honor to invest in the lives of our Southpointe children.

To say YES to SPKids, please click the link below.  Upon completion of this form, you will receive information about our background check policy.  Once you are approved to serve, you will be invited to a new volunteer orientation!
